Red Crossing

Ann Arbor, MI and Prague, Czech Republic

Red Crossing is a 75-foot long by 8-foot wide “carpet” made interactive through the collective effort and participation of 60 strangers at a time. Individuals grab the handles along the sides of the carpet to elevate the carpet approximately 3 feet off of the ground and enthusiastic volunteers take turns walking, skipping, or cartwheeling across the elevated walkway. Red Crossing premiered at the 2019 Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space and has swas one of three winning projects selected for the 2019 Winnipeg Design Festival PROTO- in the category “Play”.
